From Neil Gaiman's site FAQ (http://www.neilgaiman.com/p/FAQs/On_Gaiman):

How do you pronounce your last name? Is it gay-man or guy-man or something else?

It's Gaym'n.

I hope that "conceited jerk" comment wasn't aimed at me. o_O

Last comment: And he (Neil) is sexy, in that mysterious kind of way.

I can't stop commenting!

First, it's Alan Cumming.

Also, I have dimples. Whose side am I on?

heeheehee! mr. joshua! your comments are making my day! yeah! i caught the alan cummings thing when i listened... also, at some point in time i refer to 2011 as twenty thousand eleven.
*headdesk*
of COURSE you are not the conceited jerk...
and you have dimples, you say? do they make you look like a loopy scarecrow??? hmmm...

I'd like to point out that two of the pics Vic picked out are from Neil's MUCH younger days. :P

yes, i'll concede that's true, but i only chose those because they are freakin' gorgeous! he's still as handsome now as he ever was. i think i'm just partial to black and white portraits.

all the stuff about neil gaiman (pronounced "gamin'") was hilarious. i don't really understand what women find attractive about men, i tend to think that they look like hairy trolls, but if i had to i would say that he looks like a less sexy ramone (which is not a good thing). but if you're purely attracted to people because of their intellect, he's got one of the best in the business.

oh, and i love to kill a mockingbird. probably one of my top 3 all-time favorites. catcher in the rye is also frequently banned and that book got me through high school. (i was a lot moodier at the time.)

It took me a few days before I got a chance to listen this time. Good stuff. I enjoy the banter. I felt for Emily's struggle articulating her thoughts about banning books. I'm a big fan of not banning them myself. But that doesn't mean I want my 4 year old niece having erotica in her pre-school library either. Like all things controversial, there is usually a more nuanced position to take that can't be covered in a blanket statement.

Glad you took on the topic though. I enjoy the banter and look forward to next week.
